Coronavirus Update: The 10-Year Task Force Leatherneck Reunion has been postponed to 7-9 May 2021.
For over a year, we’ve been planning the 10 Year Reunion of Task Force Leatherneck, the 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan. We were looking forward to reuniting with our fellow Marines and Sailors as we remembered our successes on the battlefield in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. We were especially eager to host our special guests, the Gold Star families of the Marines, Sailors, and Soldier we lost.
Unfortunately, recent developments in the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have created a situation where we must consider the health and well being of attendees and the risks of traveling to Quantico for the Reunion. So, out of an abundance of caution and concern, we have decided to postpone the Reunion until the spring of 2021. We have not made this decision lightly, and while we regret any inconvenience this may cause, we know that all agree that as responsible Americans, we need to do our part to help stop the spread of this virus.
Details about next year’s events now scheduled for 7-9 May 2021 will be provided in the coming months and I look forwarding to seeing everyone a year from now, when we will gather as only Marines and Sailors can, and raise a glass to our fellow leathernecks and those who have gone before!
Lieutenant General, USMC (Retired)
