MCAF Ground Dinners are co-hosted by the Marine Corps Association Foundation and HQMC Plans, Policies and Operations (PP&O) and provide an opportunity to focus on the activities, status and achievements of the Ground Combat Element (GCE) of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF). On this occasion MCAF was fortunate to be able to present the Commanding Generals of each Marine Division, or his designated representative to provide the dinner guests with a current perspective on the state of their respective Divisions.
Following an overview of the state of the GCE by the Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies and Operations, each Division Representative gave a brief overview of the current status of their division and the thrust of current operations. Following that, the Division representatives took part in a moderated question and answer period.
LtGen Thomas Waldhauser, Deputy Commandant for PP&O provided the GCE overview and the Division briefs were provided by BGen Joseph L. Osterman for the 1st Mar Div, Colonel David Fuquea for 2nd Mar Div, BGen James B. Laster for 3rd Mar Div and MajGen James L. Williams for the 4th Mar Div. Colonel John Keenan, USMC (Ret), editor of Marine Corps Gazette served as the Q&A moderator.
