Wanted: Wounded Marines

Are you (or do you know) a wounded Marine or a Navy corpsman who is looking to train for a new career?

Wounded Marine LogoThe Wounded Marine Careers Foundation (WMCF) offers a one-of-a-kind training program for wounded Marines and Navy corpsmen who are motivated to learn new, employable skills in the entertainment/media field. Graduates will become International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union members, will be certified in Apple Final Cut Pro, and will be certified to land higher than entry-level jobs as production/video editors, cinematographers, photographers, sound mixers, etc.

Any veteran (active duty or medically retired) wounded or disabled since 11 September 2001 qualifies. Virtually no disability is disqualifying. All training equipment is adaptable to individual challenges. No prior media training necessary.

The bottom line is this: if you were a good Marine or Navy corpsman and want to continue working by that same ethos in one of the Nation’s largest growing industries, we are looking for you! Students must be passionate to learn and ready to go to work upon graduation. Physical evaluation boards must be completed prior to the start of training, and pain management levels must be at a level to complete full workdays generally unmedicated. The next class commences on 10 September 2008.

For more information, call GySgt Nick Popaditch USMC (Ret.), WMCF Deputy Director @ 858-974-8134 or write Nick@woundedmarinecareers.org.
