2009 Gen Robert E. Hogaboom Leadership Writing Contest Winners Announced

On 15 July the Marine Corps Gazette editorial board met to select the winners of the 2009 Gen Robert E. Hogaboom Leadership Writing Contest. This year’s winners are as follows.

First place goes to LtCol Glen Butler for his essay titled, “The Sweetest Deal Ever: Leading the Strategic PFC in the Hybrid Warfare Environment.” He will receive a plaque and $3,000.
Second place goes to Col Matthew Bogdanos, USMCR, for his essay titled, “Leadership and the Bond That Ties.” He will receive a plaque and $1,500.

There were two essays chosen for honorable mention. Both authors will receive a plaque and $500.
LtCol Michael D. Grice received an honorable mention for his essay titled, “Leading Through Change.”
Cpl D. Forrest Wilson will receive an honorable mention award for his essay titled, “Becoming an Alpha Male: Five Aspects of Leadership.”
